Let Go Of The World
I was born Catholic and grew up within a very traditional Catholic home where we attended mass weekly and went through CCE up to the age of 14.
I would identify myself as a cradle Catholic. I knew about Jesus but didn't know Him. Until one day I observed one of my sisters acting interested in God and our Church. When I saw the joy and excitement from her I knew something different was happening and I was curious to find out if this was real or just her emotions.
After following her to mass at the Catholic Charismatic Center and meeting the Companions of the Cross I was given an opportunity to allow my faith to turn into a walk with Jesus that I never knew existed in the Catholic church.
I began reading the Bible and found scriptures that came alive to me in my everyday life. (I'm getting energized all over again just writing this on paper.) What I experienced was a conversion of the heart: to turn my life over to Jesus and follow Him and to learn to love, know and serve Him. The CCC church, through the power of the Holy Spirit and the Companions of the Cross opened new doors. Through Life in the Spirit seminars, healing masses, prayer groups, as well as praise and worship, I was able to learn to let go of the worlds way of thinking and doing. I allowed Our Lord to enter into my heart and melt and mold me.
Now I'm a Catholic who loves to read the Bible, study it, pray faithfully, go to mass almost daily and say the rosary. Most of all I love and really know Jesus in the Eucharist! I have an appreciation for our sacraments especially reconciliation and the richness of our Catholic Faith. Thank God for giving us the Catholic Charismatic Center and for bringing the Companions of the Cross all the way from Canada to Houston, Texas. We have been given a huge blessing with their presence in our lives. Thanks be to God!
